Dear DPS ECE Families:
Please disregard the bill you received for Tuition due on April 5. DPS sent ECE tuition bills on Wednesday March 18, discounting tuition for Extended Spring Break through April 7. The Governor’s order was extended through April 17 hours after the bills were sent.
DPS is committed to making sure that no family is charged for any closure or remote learning related to COVID-19. Accordingly, the Tuition Billing team is working on updating the billing status of all families to reflect no charges for the period from March 16-April 17, including any reimbursement related to the March billing. The final tuition bill is scheduled to go out April 18th for the month of May. For a refund ahead of the final billing, please call 720-423-3698 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also wanted to make sure our ECE families know that the DPS plans for remote learning, which starts on April 7, are primarily focused on K-12 students, given the limited planning time and resources we are faced with. That means that the distribution of laptop computers this week is focused on those students, and at this time we are not able to provide learning devices to ECE families. Remote learning for preschool students will support parents and caregivers through teacher and district-provided resources and ideas that will support learning at home. Screen time should be very limited for preschool students (no more than 15-20 minutes per day).
Thank you for your support and cooperation as we continue to provide the best learning opportunities we can during this difficult time. We are sending our strongest well-wishes to all of our families while we are adjusting to the new health conditions in our community.
